Writer.
I have been a writer for almost 5 years! Given that I started off my career working for a Senator, a Mayor, and being an executive at a non-profit, most of my writings are about the comedy that can be found in normal workplace environments.
Short Films
My most recent short film, Blackjack, is a horror comedy centering on Nicole Tesi, who has a hard time choosing between her romantic partner and her work besties. I wrote this film and I also played the character, Nicole Tesi. This short won the Audience Choice award out of 78 films at the Los Angeles 48 Hour Horror Comedy Film Festival. Blackjack is currently on the film festival circuit (pictured on the left).
I have also written 2 other short films, Angela’s Tale and Spy Her Man. Angela’s Tale won Best Regional Short at the Gary International Black Film Festival and Spy Her Man was a project I completed for the Los Angeles 48 Hour Film Festival.
Web Series
I worked in the writer’s room for the web series, Homegirls Season 2, which finished filming in February! I wrote episodes 2 and 5. I also supported production as a writer on set.
Audio Podcasts
I am currently working for Pocket FM as a contract staff writer. I am working with a team to develop an audio series which will be available for listening on the Pocket FM app! More details on how to listen to the series coming soon.
Comedy Pilots
My first pilot, Wildest Dreams, follows the journey of Amara, an indecisive, conflict-averse and recently engaged millennial. She lands a once in a lifetime opportunity, but the only thing getting in her way is life itself.
Since Blackjack got such a positive reaction from audiences, I wrote a pilot version of the short film.
I am using both of these scripts to apply for fellowships, festivals and pitch competitions. Please reach out if you’d like to chat about any of these projects or if you have any ideas on bringing these pilots to life!
Resume
You can view my writer’s resume to view the other projects that I have been a part of! My goal is to get representation or get staffed on a television show. If you have any insights on these things, let’s chat!
